Dr Loy completed his medical and surgical degree at the University of Adelaide, before completing his medical internship at the Lyell McEwin Hospital. He rotated through the Lyell McEwin Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glenside Health Services, Drug & Alcohol Services, the Centre for Treatment of Anxiety and Depression (C.T.A.D) and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, before obtaining his fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Loy has previously worked as a consultant psychiatrist for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, as well as the state-wide Forensic Mental Health Service. He is currently employed part-time as a consultant psychiatrist by headspace Early Psychosis Program (hEPP).
Dr Loy believes the key to good mental health is building resilience through a combination of biological and psychological therapies. He appreciates that there is no single approach which is right for every individual and strives to work together with his clients to find the best version of themselves.
